about Us
The Department
of Electrical
Engineering came
into existence
right at the
inception of the
Institute. The
first batch of
the graduates
passed out in
1992. The
department
follows a two
years modular
structure of the
Institute at
each module viz.
Base, Diploma
and Degree. The
intakes for the
each module (30
no.), are
admitted through
the NERIST
entrance
examination viz.
NEE-I, NEE-II
and NEE-III
every year.
The courses
offered by the
department
following the
modular pattern
are structured
in such a way so
as:

the base
module
students in
the art of

impart
enough
supervisory

- to
provide
sound
knowledge to
the degree
module
students to
make them
able to
analyze,
design and
capable to
lead with
innovative
ideas in the
subject of
Electrical
Engineering
suitable for
the current
need of
modern
industries
and public
sectors.
First entry
(Base Module) is
after class X.
Each module also
provides
terminality
corresponding to
an occupational

criteria for
vertical
mobility is
allowed to move
to the next
higher module,
leading finally
to a degree in
engineering or
technology in
six years time
after class X.
Thus department
offers a wide
range of courses
like Workshop
Practice, Repair
& Maintenance
including
microprocessor
and computer
applications in
the areas of
Electrical
Machines and
Drives, Power
Systems, Control
and
Instrumentation,
Power
Electronics,
Energy Systems

A continuous
evaluation
procedure for
